Jim Campbell

Jim Campbell

Horticulturist & Landscape Designer

I have been involved in the nursery business for nearly 50 years. The journey started with my father, Edward Early Campbell, starting Campbell Nurseries in 1945, which evolved into Campbell & Ferrara Nurseries. Caney Creek Nursery in Rockwood, Tennessee, was born from this rich history. Some of my greatest passion and skill sets revolve around horticulture and landscape design. That includes extensive involvement in growing nursery stock and providing expert consultation advice. I hope you stop by to see us; contact me anytime.

Jim's Pick

Boxwoods are my current pick. They work exceptionally well for the front foundation, hedgerows, and formal landscape design. Make sure to ask about blight-resistant varieties. We have them. Currently, there is a boxwood blight spreading in Tennessee. Ask us more.

Miles Campbell

Landscaper/Farm Staff/Business & Marketing Management

“As early as I can remember, I have existed within nature and behind the technology available to me. From a very young age, I started spending large amounts of time at our second-generation landscape design and garden center, Campbell & Ferrara, in Alexandria, VA. After college, I picked up my first job making high-quality topsoil out of a recyclable dirt mountain. After honing many skill sets required to complete the physical portion of working in the landscaping industry outdoors, I moved inside and started mastering the management of sections of the company one at a time for the next 5 years. After exploring all the positions I wanted to learn at Campbell & Ferrara, I started my own Marketing Management Consulting Business that builds brands (Course1.com). After nearly 10 years, I continue to work directly for Campbell & Ferrara in VA. I am also working on building up Caney Creek Nursery here in Rockwood, TN, with Jim, my father, so that we can continue the family tradition of locally driven quality landscape and nursery work. It will be our third generation, and I aim to surpass 100 years of Campbell’s doing it. Less than 25 years left to beat it. This year will be 79.”

Miles's Pick

Dystilium is my current pick. I enjoy installing them for accent in design and formality, typically in clusters around other varieties that complement them. We have a great selection right now and planting a cluster of three to five in one of your garden beds may be the improvement you’ve wanted.

Mark Copeman

Farm Manager/Legendary Farmer

“Born and blessed in Roane County! Got to see the world from the Himalayas of India to the Jungles of Chitwan, Nepal. Home is where the heat is! I’m home!! Proud to be a Rockwood Tiger! Blessed with this farm which allows me to heal, bloom, and be happy. Come share the happiness!”

Mark's Pick

Muskodine Grape Vine is my pick. It’s always searching for new heights—a mouthful of golden memories.
